Things to do

As the name suggests, Costa Calma is on the more peaceful southern coast of the island of Fuerteventura. It’s also home to some of the best beaches on the island, with 17 miles of sand. Located on the edge of the huge Jandia national park, you won’t be short on views either. While the sea is calmer than elsewhere, it’s still a great spot for some watersports; there are plenty of schools offering kitesurfing and windsurfing lessons.

The area is also great for shopping, with a total of eight shopping centres, plus the Wednesday and Sunday market in Costa Calma, where you can find plenty of souvenirs and bargains.

If you’re looking for other things to do, take a trip to Morro Jable, where you’ll discover fantastic beaches including Playa Mal Nombre, Playa Esquinzo and Cofete beach.

Top attractions

One of the main attractions for many visitors to Fuerteventura is the opportunity for lots of watersports, and Costa Calma is well located to try some of the best. The nearby Playa de Sotavento is home to an annual windsurfing championship, which takes place every July and always draws a big crowd.

Another popular activity for the whole family is a visit to Oasis Park, a zoo with a range of animals and birds, as well as sea lion shows.

Best restaurants

Enjoy some of the local cuisines at nearby La Goleta Restaurant, which serves up a choice of Spanish rice dishes, suckling pig and seafood, as well as a range of tapas. If you enjoy a good beer then try German-run Galeria Restaurant and Bar, where you’ll find Mediterranean dishes and a good choice of German beers. Or for something fresh, try a salad or vegetarian dish at B-Side Cafe which is also popular.

Types of HolidayTaxis transfer vehicles
March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
