How far is Flaine from Geneva Airport?

Flaine is 56 miles (90 km) southeast of the airports, and just under two hours away with a quick and easy, private taxi transfer from HolidayTaxis. Things to do in Flaine

No need to be sporty to climb to an altitude of 2550 metres, simply hop on the Grandes Platières cable car. From here, you can enjoy the stunning views of the Mont Blanc massif mountain range, with views out to Chamonix. You can even choose to hike or mountain bike back down again.

For something a little less strenuous, pay a visit to l'Airon Alpine Farm. Here you can watch the dairy farmers making the cheese and see the goats, cows and pigs in their summer pastures. There’s also a range of local produce to try and buy.

Finally, round off your day with some refreshing drinks on a terrace with a view. Flaine is not best-known for its apres-ski scene, being more of a family and beginner resort, but there are a handful of good bars to choose from. These include Diamont Noir, a family-friendly place serving tapas and with a popular Happy Hour, and La Cascade, with an ice bar.

Winter Activities

As well as the obvious skiing and snowboarding activities, there are plenty of other things to try during your stay in Flaine. Have a go at snowkiting, like kitesurfing but on the slopes, ice quadbiking or snowmobiling. Or try a more traditional activity such as snowshoe walking or dog sledding. There’s also an ice rink and a toasty outdoor pool, part of a spa complex, where you can sit back and relax.

Summer Activities

There are lots of things to keep both kids and adults busy during the summer months in Flaine. In the centre you’ll find mini-golf, various sports classes such as dance and basketball, badminton and tennis courts and swimming pools.
