For the best view of the whole city, take a relaxing ride to the top of Salève mountain by catching the chairlift from Veyrier. The more energetic visitors can burn off all the Swiss chocolate they’ve eaten with a hike to the top.

Geneva’s most famous attraction is its Jet d'Eau - This 140 metre fountain, (so large it is visible from the air by plane) is located in Lake Geneva. Originally created as a pressure release system for the nearby hydraulic plant, it quickly became a popular sight. You can see it operating every day throughout the year, and during the spring and autumn months when the jet erupts in the evening, the area is illuminated with lights.
If there’s just one church you visit during your stay in Geneva, making it the St. Pierre Cathedral. The building is a mix of Neoclassical and much older architecture, dating back to the 12th century - Visitors can climb the cathedral’s tower for views of the city and the Alps beyond.

You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing where to dine in Geneva.
