Things to see and do in Cesme

Çeşme is a very popular beach resort in Turkey, offering some of the best stretches of sand around. Holidaymakers have plenty to choose from, but some of the best include:

Ilıca Beach. Two kilometres of white sands and crystal clear waters that are best known for their thermal springs. Visitors come to enjoy the natural benefits of the waters, as well as the nearby mud

Pırlanta Plajı. Also known as Diamond Beach, this stretch of sand is best known as a top spot for wind and kite surfing, thanks to its waves and plenty of wind. It also slopes very gently into the water, making it a great beach for swimming.

Mavı Koy. If you want to discover some of Turkey’s incredible marine life, this is the place to be. Nicknamed ‘aquarium’ for its clear waters, this beach is perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving.

Finally, the best beach in the area for nightlife is Ayayorgi cove. Here you’ll find a choice of beach clubs and bars, with lots of parties and events during the summer and family-friendly entertainment for the kids.

If you’ve had enough of the sun, sea and sand, there are still plenty of things to do in Cesme. You may not expect it, but the town is a great little place for shopping, with a range of boutiques selling furniture, antiques, colourful glass and souvenirs. There also Alacati Market, held every Saturday, which sells everything you could imagine.

Top attractions

The must-see sight for visitors to Cesme is the ruined ancient Greek city of Ephesus (Efes). This open-air museum is just a short taxi ride from the town and is a fascinating place to explore.

Another popular day trip is to the island of Chios, which can be reached by boat. Various companies offer boat excursions that depart from Cesme to island-like Esek Adasi and Donkey Island.

Best restaurants

There are a few good restaurants to choose from, including Imren Lokantasi, the local favourite. Here you can expect to find traditional Turkish eats, with a focus on grilled meats, meze and kebabs. For a casual meal, that’s just as tasty, grab a sandwich from Kumru Sandwich. More of a burger made with freshly baked bread, it’s the perfect choice for hungry holidaymakers.

Types of HolidayTaxis transfer vehicles
March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
