What to do in Seferihisar?

Seferihisar is the first slow city of Turkey and is situated in the Aegean region of Turkey.

There is a famous market, in the remains of a castle, with a vast range of items for sale in the nearby coastal village of Sığacık, as well as decent local shops and cafes.

Teos Antik Kenti is a rather impressive site of Roman ruins, a short 15-minute drive toward the coast. Here you could easily spend a morning or afternoon investigating the expansive remains (there are no facilities so bring plenty of water).

A 15-minute drive North and you'll discover Bilimsev, a thoroughly delightful space to keep children entertained. There are wood houses, workshops, fairytale style interiors, plus fun and engaging activities. There is an on-site restaurant which cooks up both a delicious breakfast and lunch so you could happily spend the day here.

There are various pleasant beaches to visit, all a 15-20 minute drive from Seferihisar; these include Akkum, which is suitable for families with all the necessary facilities.
