How to get to St. Helier

The easiest way to get to St. Helier is with one of our affordable, hassle-free transfers from the airport direct to your accommodation. We offer a range of low cost transport options, including shared shuttles (prices start at a budget-friendly £11.78) as well as speedy private taxis, wheelchair-accessible vehicles, private coaches and luxury cars that will all get you to your destination in just 25 minutes.

Why visit St. Helier

St Helier is the ideal base from which you can explore the rest of the island of Jersey. The capital offers plenty to see and do, from shopping and sightseeing to discovering its gastronomic scene - and it’s small enough to get around everything easily. If you want to get out of the town, the beach is right nearby.

Things to do

If you want to pick up a few gifts and souvenirs, of just enjoy indulging in some shopping on your holiday, then King Street is Jersey’s place to be for high street brands, boutique shops and the island’s historic department stores, Voisins and DeGruchy. While you’re wandering the streets, look out for the French road names, the Georgian house and the 19th century Victorian fruit and vegetable market, where you can pick up some treats.

You can walk straight from the high street to St. Aubin’s Bay and the marina. There are lots of opportunities to see the coast from the water, with a boat tour or by kayak, or you can take a boat trip to the Elizabeth Castle, perched on its own rocky island. Nature lovers shouldn’t miss a visit to Jersey Zoo, established by author and naturalist Gerald Durrell.

Where to eat

For authentic French and Jersey cuisine, fine dining restaurant Bohemia is our top choice while in St Helier. Here you can sample a tasting menu or, for something a little different, experience the 6-course ‘surprise’ menu - you won’t know what you’re getting before it arrives! For something a little more relaxed, La Cantina, located at The People's Park, does great pizzas and there is a heavy focus on local, seasonal produce.

When to go

If you’re looking for hot weather and the least chance of rain then go between June and August. However, for quieter beaches, cheaper prices and warmer sea water, the best time to go to Jersey is between September and mid October.

Types of HolidayTaxis transfer vehicles
March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
