How to get from Lanzarote Arrecife Airport to Playa Honda

Playa Honda is located right next to Lanzarote Airport, and a quick 20 minute taxi ride with HolidayTaxis will get you straight to your hotel door. Avoid the queues at the airport with a pre-booked private taxi, minibus or luxury car, where your friendly driver will be waiting to meet and greet you on arrival.

Things to see and do

The resort has two beaches, the main one is Playa Honda itself, which is a huge strip of sand that runs the length of the main promenade. Calm seas are ideal for swimming and there’s plenty of room for beach activities and sunbathing. The smaller beach, Guacimeta, curves around the Lanzarote Arrecife Airport. From here you can see the planes take off from over your head.

There are plenty of shopping opportunities here, as one of the island’s biggest shopping centres, Deiland, is just near the town. Offering shops, a cinema, bowling and a supermarket, it’s a popular spot for visitors and locals alike.

Top attractions

Not too far from the resort is the Aquapark water park in in Costa Teguise. One of the best parks on the island, it offers all the usual rides and slides as well as paintball, an adventure trail and obstacle course, go karting and swimming pools.

Further south from the resort is the Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park. Split into two areas, a zoo and a small waterpark, it’s a great place for the whole family to spend the day. A range of activities and shows are also offered, from swimming with sea lions and pony rides to canoeing and cowboy shows.

For all day dining, Emmax is the place to be. Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a range of vegetarian dishes, this waterfront restaurant has been a success since it opened a few years ago. For tapas, Restaurant Mesana has a good menu that also includes some regular meals. While Aguaviva is largely considered one of the leading places on the island for an up-market night out.
