What to do in the South Mahe Area

Seychelles International Airport acts as a bit of a division point between the North and South Mahe areas. The South differs from the North as there is a less busy and more relaxed atmosphere. However, this does not mean that the South Mahe area is not just as stunning as its northern counterpart.

There are several beaches along the coast here, including the Anse Intendance, Anse Royale, Anse Forbans, Anse Marie-Louise, and Petit Anse beaches. The Anse Forbans and Anse Marie-Louise are the two southernmost bays on the island and are called Pirate’s Bay on old maps, as this area was historically a strategic place for pirates to berth. If you have ever wanted to learn how to surf, you can do so at the Petite Anse beach as Surf House Seychelles offers surfing lessons at this location. Another more daring adventure to go on in the area is visiting Ros Soyder Rock Pool. A short hike is required to get to this saltwater tidal pool, but once there you can take a dip depending on the tide.

Golf lovers can enjoy spending their trip at the Seychelles Golf Club, which offers a 9-hole course and is a short trip from Seychelles International Airport. It is in the nearby Anse Aux Pins along the eastern coast of the island. Other activities in the area include visiting the Takamaka Rum Distillery, Jardin Du Roi Spice Garden, and the Creole Institute in Turtle Bay. This cultural centre explores and maintains Creole culture.

Types of HolidayTaxis transfer vehicles
March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
