How to get to Palma

Majorca’s capital is located on the island’s southwest coast, only a short distance from Majorca Palma Airport. The quickest and easiest way to get from Palma Airport to Palma is with a pre-booked transfer direct to your hotel door. Choose a Private Taxi and your driver will meet you in arrivals and get you to the city centre in just 20 minutes. Alternatively, our low cost Shuttle takes 40 minutes and our Speedy Shuttle 30 minutes to get you to your destination. Transfer prices start from just £14.50, depending on vehicle and active promotions.

Why visit Palma?

Nicknamed the ‘pearl of the Mediterranean’, Majorca’s capital is an attractive, year-round destination thanks to its offering of trendy restaurants and bars, boutique shopping and its cultural scene. If you’re looking for more than just a beach holiday (and Palma’s Blue Flag, white sandy beach won’t disappoint any sunseeker), then the city is the perfect place to be. Crowned in 2015 by the Sunday Times as the ‘world’s best place to live’, Palma is an obvious choice for families, couples and young people alike.

Things to do in Palma

The old city centre has more than its fair share of sightseeing opportunities, with quality museums and art galleries to visit and pretty, historic streets to explore. The Borne, or ‘golden mile’, encompasses the Casco Antiguo (old town) where you will find the magnificent 'La Seu' Cathedral and the Royal Palace of Almudaina. The nearby street of Jaime III is ideal for shopping and the Santa Catalina area is great for boutiques and cafes. In the evening, take a stroll around La Lonja or the Paseo Maritimo seafront where you can try some tasty tapas and experience the city’s nightlife.

Popular Restaurants

For the very best tapas in Palma, the trendy (and very popular) Tast Club and the restaurant at the Hotel Cort are both worth a visit, although you may need to reserve in advance. For the very freshest fish try the restaurant Pesquero on the waterfront or take in the sea views from Ola del Mar which serves up locally caught seafood. If it’s a casual lunch you’re looking for then check out Burger Lab by Adrián Quetglas, or Canela for some reasonable priced dishes.

Places to visit

A trip to Palma wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the city’s famous cathedral or the hilltop fortress of Bellver Castle, where you can take in the stunning panoramic views of the city and the bay. If you choose to see just one museum or gallery then make it Es Baluard Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, which is built into the old city walls. If you’re looking for a day trip to entertain the kids, then the Palma Aquarium is a popular choice for families. For something a little more adventurous, take a trip to the nearby Cuevas del Drach caves, where you can take a boat across one of the world’s largest underground lakes.

Types of HolidayTaxis transfer vehicles
March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
