Things to do and see
Son Caliu is located next to the lively resort of Palmanova. The town boasts three sandy beaches, the best of which is Blue Flag, white sand Playa Palma Nova beach. The water here is shallow, making it ideal for families, and you can walk along the beach all the way to Magaluf. To see more of the coast, take a boat trip, or glass-bottomed boat, to see more of the local beaches.
You can do some shopping in Son Caliu itself, while there are a range of souvenir and beach shops to be found in Palmanova. It’s also a great destination for any golf lovers, and there are some top class, 18 hole golf courses to be found nearby.
Top attractions
The top natural attraction in the area is the Tramuntana mountain range. Popular with walkers and mountain bikers, it offers a wild a scenic escape from the beach resorts on the coast. Once you’ve had your fill of fresh air, you’ll be ready to spend the night dancing away at some of the biggest clubs in nearby Magaluf.
Going on holiday with the kids? Katmandu Theme Park is the best park in Majorca and includes a small waterpark, play areas for small children, minigolf and more. The Pirates Adventure Show is another great option for the whole family, a show that will dazzle little ones with dancing, acrobatics and music.
