Things to see and do in Marrakech

A visit to Marrakech is an amazing experience of colourful souks, the smell of spices sold on the street stalls, the sound of the call to prayer ringing out from the Koutoubia minaret and the taste of rich tagine dishes. If you have the opportunity, stay in a traditional riad for a more authentic experience of the city. Our Marrakech airport transfers are perfect for getting to private accommodation in the Old Town.

Keeping with tradition, why not experience a typical hammam during your stay. These bath houses are ideal for relaxing and include a sauna, a pool and an exfoliating massage. You’ll find a choice of hammams throughout Marrakech.

The relaxing experience will prepare you for the exciting hustle and bustle of the medina, the old walled part of the city, where the maze of winding streets is a treasure trove of market stalls selling leather crafts, lanterns, trinkets and jewellery. Add a trip to the tanneries while you’re there, where you can watch bags and dresses being made by hand.

Top attractions

One of the most recognisable buildings in the city is the Koutoubia Mosque. The largest in Marrakech, it features a beautiful minaret and while non-muslims are not permitted to enter the building, visitors can walk around the grounds and see the ruins outside. Other key buildings include Bahia Palace, once home to the French Resident General and now a museum, and the Ben Youssef Madrasa, an Islamic college.

After this, take a stroll around Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where you’ll find henna tattoo artists, street entertainers and stalls selling freshly squeezed orange juice and cooked dishes. Relax after lunch in the tranquil Jardin Majorelle gardens.

Eating out

If you’re looking for a traditional restaurant to enjoy an evening meal, you won’t go wrong with Al Fassia. Start off with a mezze followed by lamb or fish tajine - just remember to book a table first. For a real treat, make a reservation at Dar Anika. Here you can try dishes that won’t feature on other menus, including camel meat, all in a romantic candlelit setting. There are more international options also, such as Australian restaurant +61. Here you can enjoy locally sourced produce with a good addition of green vegetables and plenty of fresh fish dishes.

Types of HolidayTaxis transfer vehicles
March 31, 2023

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
