Why visit Rawai Beach?
Rawai Beach, also written Ra Wai, was originally the first tourist beach in Phuket, due to its location on the south-east coast of the island. Nowadays it’s the launching point for various boat excursions to other surrounding islands including; Racha, Koh Lone, Koh Bon and Coral island. Other enjoyable beaches close by include Laem Ka Beach, which has excellent views across to the nearby islands.
The southernmost hill on the island, Promthep Cape is a popular spot for watching the sunset and gets busy with tourists and locals because of this. There is also a lighthouse here which houses historical maritime artefacts, and offers excellent views of the surroundings. Children of all ages will enjoy the Rawai Park Kids Club with slides, fountains and indoor play area.
