Where is Verona Villafranca Airport (VRN)?

Verona Villafranca Airport, also known as Valerio Catullo Airport, is just 13 km (8 miles) southwest of Verona city centre. It is the main gateway for visitors to Lake Garda and serves the surrounding provinces of Verona, Brescia, Mantua (Mantova) and Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol.

What to do in Verona

The pretty town of Verona in northern Italy has long been a tourist destination and still draws in crowds every year, thanks in part to its fame as the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Start your holiday in the beautiful Piazza del Erbe square in the heart of the city, where you can admire the fresco walls over a coffee or a delicious gelato.

Climb to the top of the impressive Torre dei Lamberti tower for panoramic views of the city, and don’t forget to visit Juliet’s Balcony, just around the corner. For outstanding examples of ancient Roman architecture, look no further than Teatro Romano and the Verona Arena (Arena di Verona), one of the biggest of its kind in the world. After, cross over the medieval Castelvecchio Bridge which leads to the museum and gallery of the same name.

Popular places to visit

From Dossobuono to Cavalcaselle and Costermano, Garda to Bardolino, the Verona region is home to some beautiful towns and villages, beyond the eponymous romance of the city of fair Verona itself. Some come for the countryside, such as the beautifully green Gardone Riviera, others for the ski, and others for a romantic city break in the home of Romeo and Juliet. Whatever your reasons for heading to Verona, you can be sure of a trip to remember!

At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.

For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
