Where is La Digue Port?

La Digue is an island in the Seychelles, just to the east of the larger island of Praslin. The port is located in La Passe, which is along the more northern area of the island’s west coastline. It is a short trip north of the L’Union Estate, which is a popular garden and park for tourists to visit.

What to do in La Digue

Anse Severe is a beautiful beach that is facing the nearby Praslin Island. There is a small snack shop at the northern end, as well as juice shops and bars all along the beach. There are shallow and calm waters here that are great for families as the area is protected from the open ocean by coral and rock formations. Other activities to do on this beach to make the most out of your trip include snorkelling and paddling outside of simply relaxing and tanning on the sand. This beach is also easily accessible as there is a road nearby, making a car ride up to this area possible, although it is also accessible on foot.

Anse La Reunion is located on La Digue Island and offers a shallow and calm beach that is family-friendly, especially as the beach is protected from harsher waves by a coral reef. On the beach you can relax and tan, or go on a snorkelling or diving excursion with a local diving centre. Doing this will have you spotting the wildlife in the region. Just outside the main part of town is the Nid d’Aigle observation deck. This is a four-kilometre trek up to a scenic viewpoint that is at the island’s highest point 333 metres up.

L’Union is along the eastern coast of La Digue island, just south of La Reunion. In the region, there are a few sites to visit during your upcoming holiday. This includes the L’Union Estate and Estate Farm, which is an old vanilla plantation where you can see giant tortoises while exploring the area. Additionally, there is the Giant Union Rock and Romeo and Juliet Rock which are both scenic viewpoints that are perfect for capturing some photos of your holiday on the island. Just a bit further south of L’Union is Anse Source D’Argent, which is a famous beach on the island due to it being one of the mosy photographed beaches in the world.
