Things to do in Zurich
The city of Zurich, in northern Switzerland, has much to offer its visitors than just being the entry point for various ski and snow holidays and resorts. Experience a different view of the city on the flatboats of the Limmatschifffahrt, or ascend the Uetliberg (Zurich’s backyard mountain) with the SZU for enjoyable views in all directions. Zurich’s Kunsthaus and the Helmhaus gallery will sate your appetite for all things arty while historians will enjoy the Tram Museum.
Head to Zurich West, formerly an area of decaying warehouses, now featuring a stretch of restaurants, bars and shops built into the old railway arches called ‘Viadukt’ and the nearby Frau Gerold’s Garten has an urban garden and pretty shops. Another good place with narrow streets, old buildings, quirky shops, and inviting bars are the Niederdorf and Oberdorf districts, the perfect spot for a traditional fondue. Zurich is home to one of the most exclusive shopping streets in the world named Bahnhofstrasse and also the world’s oldest vegetarian restaurant called the Hilti. Relax and unwind at the Thermalbad & Spa or enjoy some people-watching in Lake Zurich’s Seefeld district. Take in the peace and quiet at the botanical gardens or head up to Lindenhof, overlooking the old town, the river and the cathedral.
Where is Zurich Airport (ZRH)?

Families can enjoy the playrooms and games consoles, or explore the airport in search of hidden treasures with the Airport Treasure Hunt. For longer stopovers, pass some time in the gym and sauna or rent bicycles, skates and walking poles and explore the surrounding area.
FAQs - Zurich airport transfers
What is the difference between shared shuttles and private transfers?
With shuttle services, you will be travelling together with other passengers. Zurich shuttles operate according to a scheduled timetable and journey times depend on traffic and the number of stops made. Whereas with our private taxis you can choose a vehicle complete with driver for you and your travel party size. The service will be accommodated to your schedule and holiday destination and includes a door to door pick up and drop off.
How do I get from the airport to the train station?
The easiest way is with a quick, pre-booked taxi transfer straight from Zurich airport to the Zurich train station with HolidayTaxis. For more information contact our tailormade team who can accommodate any bespoke and group book to suit your requirements.

Disability Access Transportation
We offer wheelchair accessible taxis in many destinations which are suitable for those using a wheelchair, and can cater for any special requirements you may have. Wheelchair accessible vehicles have either a rear tail lift or ramp for wheelchair access. You will not have to get out of your wheelchair and your driver will assist you in and out of the vehicle if needed.
Types of HolidayTaxis transfer vehicles
March 31, 2023
At HolidayTaxis, we recognize that every traveler is different and may have their own preferences and requirements for their airport transfers. To accommodate this, we offer a diverse range of transfer vehicles for our customers to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and advantages.
For example, if you're traveling in a large group, our minibus or shared airport shuttle transfers might be the best option for you, as they can comfortably accommodate a larger number of passengers and their luggage. On the other hand, if you're traveling with just one or two companions, a private car may be more suitable for you as they offer a more intimate and personalised experience.
