Getting to Zanzibar

There are no direct flights from the UK to Zanzibar or Tanzania. You can get to Zanzibar by flying with these airlines: Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, Qatar Airways and Oman Air. Some of the large carriers such as Emirates Airlines, KLM, Swiss and Egyptair fly into Dar es Salaam, which is only a short journey by air or sea from Zanzibar. If you decide to travel by sea from Dar es Salaam you can book a ferry ticket through a local tour operator.

Medical Advice

Seek medical advice from your local health practitioner before travelling to Zanzibar to get all the necessary vaccinations: Tetanus, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Diphtheria, Yellow Fever and Polio.
